Small but Mighty

Ella J. (Ella Bean)

This is Ella, she is my 6th Grandchild. Ella is 10 years old and in the 5th grade. She love sports, music, horses, animals in general and is an overall easy going self confident kid.

Ella started Middle school in the fall as a 5th grader at Albright Middle School and has gone out for many things. She started with orchestra and plays the violin.

Then came basketball, and she made the team as well. She is one of two I believe 5th graders on the the 7th grade basketball team. I got to see her game yesterday for the first time and it was exciting. They call her small but mighty because she is the smallest on the team and they assigned her the number 1. She is quick and can get in and under some of her competitors. She doesn't quit and always keeps pushing. I'm proud of the young lady she is beginning to be.....the game was exciting and they won 17 to 7. It was their first win and the game even had it's mascot...the Albright Viking.

I tried to put a video of her playing the game, but  apparently it would not transfer to this page so next time, I will take the photos instead...I am proud of her as you can tell and for her everyday is another opportunity to step out of the norm and try anything and she is not afraid to do it.....

The Journey

I am beginning my blog posts once more, it has been quite a while since I have written about my life and many things have happened in the time long gone. This blog is called YaYa's Journey. I will write about the experiences, feelings and adventures along the path of my Journey. The picture that I have in place is of my own special garden that I call The Journey. It is the area in my backyard that reflects all that I believe in, cherish and enjoy.

The rocks in my garden symbolize my faith, my belief in God. Some are of different sizes and shapes and along the journey my faith has grown and strengthened.

The large trees are my family and roots from generations past, they surround the journey as we travel through life. The stump is a reminder of those who are no longer here but still influence my thoughts and my life and provide the underlying balance of who I am and where I came from.

The Perennials are my true friends that I have known and who have really known me. They are always there and come back every year. Some we may not touch base with in awhile but they still come back and are the foundation of my garden,.

The annuals are the new friends I meet, who just come in and out of my life. They are friends or acquaintences  but never stay long enough to be a true friend that withstands the times.

The yard art are the moments in life when something said or done has touched you deeply and is reflected in whatever the piece is, a bench to rest along the journey, an angel who touched you and left their mark.

When you put all the items together, it becomes a symbol of my journey through life, who I have met along the way, who has walked with me, and the moments that touched my heart. Join me now as I once more walk through my journey in life and still have no idea what and where it will lead me.
