The Journey

I am beginning my blog posts once more, it has been quite a while since I have written about my life and many things have happened in the time long gone. This blog is called YaYa's Journey. I will write about the experiences, feelings and adventures along the path of my Journey. The picture that I have in place is of my own special garden that I call The Journey. It is the area in my backyard that reflects all that I believe in, cherish and enjoy.

The rocks in my garden symbolize my faith, my belief in God. Some are of different sizes and shapes and along the journey my faith has grown and strengthened.

The large trees are my family and roots from generations past, they surround the journey as we travel through life. The stump is a reminder of those who are no longer here but still influence my thoughts and my life and provide the underlying balance of who I am and where I came from.

The Perennials are my true friends that I have known and who have really known me. They are always there and come back every year. Some we may not touch base with in awhile but they still come back and are the foundation of my garden,.

The annuals are the new friends I meet, who just come in and out of my life. They are friends or acquaintences  but never stay long enough to be a true friend that withstands the times.

The yard art are the moments in life when something said or done has touched you deeply and is reflected in whatever the piece is, a bench to rest along the journey, an angel who touched you and left their mark.

When you put all the items together, it becomes a symbol of my journey through life, who I have met along the way, who has walked with me, and the moments that touched my heart. Join me now as I once more walk through my journey in life and still have no idea what and where it will lead me.

  2. WOW! Hi Mary, I came over from the other Yaya's blog, Whispering Pines and I love your analogy of your journey with family and friends represented in your backyard gardens. It is very inspirational to me and I look forward to following your blog.

Life is a journey of ups and down that we all experience throughout life. I think that I will look at my gardens in a different way from now on. Thanks for your inspirations.

    Hugs, Julia
